Under 18's Service

BCAT is now in a position to offer treatment to young people aged 12-18 experiencing problems with drug/alcohol use, and their families/care givers. We are offering this service three days per week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.   We are developing our website to give further information on this service but in the meantime here are a few essentials:-

- To access the service simply ring BCAT on 01 2764692 and you will be given an appointment with either Riadhna or Richie (within one week of your phone call).

- If you are a young person between the ages of 16 and 18 we would like you to have parental consent but you are entitled to access our support without it, but you should know that you will do better with the support of your family and/or a significant adult in your life, than without it.

- If you are a young person under the age of 16, it is necessary for us to have parental consent to your treatment with us.

- If you are a parent/guardian of a young person of any age under the age of 18 concerned about your child's drug alcohol use, we can offer you support in the following ways - a) individual and group support using the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) which will help you to develop the skills to try to encourage your child to seek help (See more on CRAFT in our Family Support Section b) involvement in your child's care plan as their care giver, and c) support for you in your own right.

-The treatment approach we are using is Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A/CRA), and for more information on A/CRA please go to www.robertjmeyersphd.com.
